1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

#6 oil burns very dirty. It's like sludge at room temperature.

here I thought the talk about Canada was annoying in the New York City thread, now we have fucking talk about the office lobby coffee in Houston, Texas? Granted, it's slightly better than regular SF coffee talk, but still fucking annoying.

If you "need" coffee to get you going in the morning, it's probably time to make some changes in your life...

I totally need coffee to get my day started. So, what changes do I need to make? (more importantly, why?)

Not knocking coffee, Greg; it taste good. I would just hate to be one of those people that feel awful through out the day if they didn't get their cup of stimulant.

I can easily go without coffee. It doesn't seem to have an waking up effect on me, rather I just like it. Some days I don't have any until the middle of the day, like right now I am having my first cup.

I don't feel awful if I don't get my coffee - although if I get no coffee at all for 24 hours I do get a headache.

But it's like having a nice glass of water when you're thirsty - technically you don't need it to go about your day (one can spend a full day without water), but it feels a whole lot better to satiate the thirst (or coffee crave). And again... I don't see any reason not to.

Today, I walked down a shady looking alley and when I got to the end, I exchanged money for a stimulant provided by a man of minority descent.

It was of higher quality than the range of stimulants provided by my own employer.

Coffee addiction is pretty powerful in its effects (the withdrawal symptoms), but easy to break. I do a four-day taper down to zero every year.

I don't know. I don't think it has the same effect on everybody. I can go days without it no problem. Maybe I am feeling those effects and I just assume feeling lousy is from being hungover every morning.

"Am I shaking because of too much coffee, or not enough alcohol?!!?!?"

it's pretty much a cycle of drink alcohol to counteract the coffee I've been drinking all day, and then drink coffee to counteract the alcohol i've been drinking all night.

I go to zero one day a year (probably same as yours...) and can definitely feel it.
