There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Aaaaaaand I was side swiped by a cab. Fucker wasn't paying any attention and turned from an avenue onto the side street where I was crossing and accelerated through the turn. He then stopped, and I was more than happy to simply shoot a "wtf are you doing" look, which I did, but then he raised his hands and gave a "wtf are you doing all crossing the street with the right of way" look. So I decided to take the high road ... actually, no, I punted and dented his door with my heavy rain boots, and then he sped away. Fuck him.

there's a reason why Uber is taking over the city.

I never understand how people can argue for the taxi industry with a straight face.

Obviously the taxi industry wants to support it self, but people who aren't involved...have they ever ridden in a taxi?

There is something to be said for the mandate that they pick up any customer (not that cabby racism isn't common) and take them to *any* specified destination in the city...if uber wins, they will have to do something about the "public service" aspect, but other than that, I can't think of a way in which uber is not better.

yes, though slightly. Minor swipe from the corner bumper as I was jumping out of the way. If I was one step behind, I 100% would have wound up on his hood.

surge prices I suppose. Granted, if it's surge price time, then you're not finding a cab in the first place.

I like Uber simply because the drivers aren't total pricks and they can speak english well enough that you don't have to repeat your destination 4 times. Far nicer cars too. Also, no stupid TV screen that you have to wait 30 seconds before the option to turn it off appears.

Glad to hear you're okay, G. Had a soccer hambeast in a Tahoe almost get me in a parking lost last week. Face buried in a Big Mac and cell phone. I just smacked her window so I applaud your kick.

Got it. I was confused by the "sideswiped" reference but the lack of any specific reference to impact in your description.
Glad it wasn't more serious, obviously.

Do you guys have regular-cab uber drivers too? They don't surge, but the drivers are bound to the same rating system as regular uber and thus the shitty ones get dropped. You still have to sit in a normal cab, but the dirty ones will get poorly rated. Of course, good luck finding one of those in any situation that leads to a big surge.

I've smacked many a cab, but cannot confirm I've ever actually dented one. Well done.

it was the 2nd most emasculating things I've done this week.

the 1st was opening a bottle of Champagne with a sword.

Unless you also cut off your penis in your enthusisam
Unless you also cut off your penis in your enthusiasm, I am not sure how opening a bottle with a sword is emasculating.

totally used the wrong word. Somehow mashed up empowering and masculine in the wrong way.

I see that meme all of the time, but I have no idea who Inigo is.
