There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

I walked 10 blocks in a suit and a the humidity was killing me. Last week I walked the whole of the high line and then some in the same suit and didn't even break a sweat.

There was only one heat wave last summer and it was 4 days long. The humidity is far worse this year. It isn't hot, but it sure is sticky.

complaining about the weather is for old people. Complaining about bathrooms habits is for the youths.

some additions, with that whole teenage girl thing in mind:

High Line in Chelsea followed by dinner in one of the many good restaurants around. Chelsea Markets, too.

    South Street Seaport.

Walking around the stores of SoHo.

Uniqlo on 5th ave (IIRC, you're in LA, and this store doesn't have much of an LA presence yet. The 5th ave location is massive). Along this is the basic 5th Ave walks (Tiffany's, Bergdorf, Saks, the other biggies that aren't SF approved).

Times Square, presumably (super touristy, yes, but tourists like lights).

Shit that may be lame, but a 13-year-old girl might enjoy nonetheless. Each has a movie that she can watch prior to the trip.

    Chamber Magic
    http://www.chambermagic.com/
    Movie pairing: Pocketful of Miracles

    Empire State Building
Movie Pairing: An Affair to Remember

The Tenement Museum so she gets an appreciation of how lucky she is.

Movie pairing: Gangs of New York

A sundae with dad is something she'll remember for a long time.

    Movie pairing: Serendipity

But if she's not a sweets person then tea at The Plaza. Works if she was a fan of Eloise.

    Movie Pairing: Plaza Suite

If she's a brave eater, then the Oyster Bar at GC. Make sure you show her the small black square in the NW corner of the ceiling in the main concourse.

    Movie pairing; 1978's Superman

The Strand bookshop to pick up a NY book.

    The Out-of-Towners

edit: And for real baller status which she won't appreciate until much later get a table at Rao's. You may need to get a studio head to make the call for you.

Tenement is great for the history. In July/August I highly recommend reserving the earliest morning tour possible; there is zero air conditioning and next to no air movement. I was several shades of purple and green by the time the tour was over.

And Hotel Chantelle, whose brunch I recommended up-thread, is exactly one block east at Ludlow & Delancey.

I forgot to think. Walked from 125/lex to 127 Morningside to 113 and something central, then down to 103 and CPW. Warm.

I may be back in the coming days though. Will let you know.

I don't think either really merits a defense, but okay.

The PTAC (heat/AC) unit in my master bath conked out and I called the repair shop and explained the issue.

"You have a PTAC unit in your bathroom?"
"Well, it's a pretty big bathroom."
    "Fancy."

My guess is this repair will now cost me double.
