A decade, hmmm, I first heard of it maybe 5 years ago. Seemed then to be big in the "gentrifying" borderline areas of DC and Philly. NYC attacks only started to come to my attention this year.

How many attacks have there been? I was under the impression that there were a couple (2 or 3) incidences over a couple of years nationwide that have somehow been conflated by some news organizations as a new trend.

And in other news, if you see a car driving without headlights at night don't flash your lights to warn him because it is actually part of a gang initiation. The car will follow and you will be killed by some young psychopath

i've heard it's a bit cheaper, which is refreshing in a city where a $23 bowl of soup isn't bad when there's an hour wait for a $19 bowl of soup.

Oh, bullshit. Just because you are ignorant doesn't mean it's never happened. Read up a little on Adams Morgan and Columbia Heights.

Or, if your point is, all the Good White Liberal Victims in DC have tied themselves in knots to explain why their individual case was not part of any pattern, because there is no pattern and only a racist would see a pattern, then yes, it's never happened in DC.

    Sorry.

There's a thread on this knockout thing on another forum I'm on and it's pretty much all over the US and just didn't get much attention until now. I don't think they're targeting anyone in particular, but more so the elderly and young since they're less able to defend themselves

Tell me, is ignorance truly bliss? I could use some bliss.

Shitass economy = beggars / homeless. Let's see if deBlasio bites on minimum wage nonsense, expect 10x hobos.

Strangely, though, at the depth of the market crisis/recession, when u/e was above 10% in 2008-2009, there were fewer beggars.

A study of the 1930s shows that these trends don't always correlate so exactly with the economy.

Yes, the odd thing I am noticing is a "higher class of beggar." Nice clothes, smart phones, etc.
