it's possible that DeBlasio, like most of our ruling class, is a total hypocrite who will work against his own stated policies. I doubt it but it's possible.

I want him to appoint Eric Adams Police Commissioner. Epicness.

    That would be hilarious.

First thing to watch w/DeBlasio: whether he folds on union pay increases.

It is the potential retroactive pay raise that might be most interesting to watch for.

This is 99 Ryerson Street in Clinton Hill, where Walt Whitman wrote Leaves of Grass in 1855. How saddening.

People vote for people. Lhota hasn't cracked a smile since 1983. There is simply nothing likable about the guy.

    He looks like foodguy!!!!!!

Plus, I like his business sense better than DeBlasio.

I'm not saying he wouldn't have been a better mayor - just saying that he is not likable enough to win. The only cases where someone eminently unlikable like Lhota can win is when people want to vote against the other guy - see election of Francois Hollande in France.

I hear you there. I think that is a problem with the People, don't you? I guess being the Rat King isn't enough for the People.

You mean in private? I'm willing to believe that. In public though, not a soul would like to have a beer with him - even if he pays.

Soooo, I'm going to be in town for about a week later this month - any new restaurants/bars we should check out?

We are trying not to duplicate too many of our past favorites this time around but will probably hit up Jean Georges, Traif, Meatball Shop (don't judge me, I'm on vacation), PDT, and Employees Only among others. We haven't jumped on the ramen/noodle craze, so maybe thinking about checking out one of the Ippudos or Super Taste. We're staying half the trip in kinda midtown westish and half the trip in nolita. We spend a fair amount of time in NY and know our way around, but don't really keep up on what's new between visits.

Charlie Bird restaurant. Great food, great for your location in nolita. Same for Super Taste.

The latter is only because I've been hyping it for like 6 months now, and so the foraz has taken note.
