Because water or water with god knows what shit in it sometimes drips disgustingly down from buildings high above. Best case, it's rain being blown off, with lots of shit mixed in. Second best, gross air conditioning condensation. Third, anything else. Fucking gross.

On a scale of 1-10, how annoying do you find the marathon?

BTW, keep an eye out for me. I'll be the (un)bearded prick in the orange singlet.

This is New York, I'm not discounting it.

^^ Nothing is more annoying than the UN general assembly. Puerto Rican Day Parade, possibly.

I doubt I will notice the marathon though it comes within a block of my place. I may wander down to yell encouragingly, "You're all winners!"

    Maybe not.

the marathon can be avoided for those who don't live directly in its path.

my facebook news feed, however, has been a marathon-initiated disaster for several weeks now.

Spoke too soon. Driving home I was denied entrance to the eastbound street north of me that I use to access 5th and my westbound street. Cop said I needed to wait an hour. Fuck that. I u-turned and drove the wrong way down my street to my garage.

The DMV at 34th is semi-sane if you get there before it opens and have all your paperwork ready.

I'm thinking about going to the one in College Point/Flushing since I can wake up later to get there. But the Herald Square one does sound more nicely run. My current (not well thought out, mind you,) plan is if I wake up before 7, I'll go there. Otherwise I'll take the bus/walk to College Point.
