Entirely possible. But Hidechan is way, way out there and hard for me to get to. The new midtown Ippudo is a 2 minute subway ride, and there is never a wait. Also, it's where they actually make the noodles for both locations now. Not sure if that matters, but I certainly did enjoy not having to eat amongst the typical too-cool-for-school downtown crowd.

There's always a line of Asians outside of the downtown Ippudo. I don't think a white man has ever eaten there. Maybe not be allowed to.

Yeah its just a matter if you're on the East or West side of town while hanging out for me. The totto and st marks ippudo waits are usually 1.5-2 hours long.

Well, it's been decided, I am having ramen for dinner tonight.

2 hour wait for soup. This phenominon occurs in multiple places throughout the world, noably Ippudo in NYC, and at various shelters in Namibia.

Scarpetta is very good, though might not be on the same level as my previous list. Also, add Barbuto to my previous list.

Shhhhh! Not so loud. It's walking distance for me. I have seen it packed to the gills though.

Last Friday Aravanel, Gome and I waited for a seat for a bit. Not too long though.
