Try at a Giants game maybe?
that would be a reason New Jersey sucks though.
NYT's latest "Room for Debate" is on the MTA.
i was going to say i thought the mta ran into $1.9 billion recently, but then found out that overall debt is $31 billion and in 2011 alone the deficit was $900 million
I am not sure of the answer, but does the MTA still have the same pension system for new hires? Or is it still as it has always been?
I'm almost positive the MTA falls within NYC's pension system, which is separate from the NYS one. The recent big changes to the NYS system (optional 401k, reduced pension benefit, higher retirement age, etc.) didn't apply to the NYC one.
Not sure what sort of changes have occurred recently in the NYC system.
Went to the first place on this list last night with the lady. Thought it was very good. Much better than a lot of others I have tried. The service was slow, but food good. I could have used a bit more fixings (sprouts, basil, dandelion, peppers, lime) though. Broth was great.
Other things on the menu looked good enough to go back, and crazy cheap. Probably will return.
Don't you have to go through a bag check, a metal detector, a couple lines of people, and about three flights of stairs to get there? It's been 5+ years since I've been.

i liked his comment re. pat kiernan.
I walked right in. I think they check your bag on the way out of the building to see if you've stolen anything. The check is so half-assed I think you could steal half the rare books collection and get away with it.
Speaking of rare books my other recently went on a rare book binge. Spent an assload. Dad is pissed.
I haven't been there since the late 80s
Anyone have any suggestions for wine bars near midtown that aren't too pricey and don't get too loud after work on Fridays?
i like Cello. You could also pull up at the bar at places like The Modern or The National.
