Blocking the box drives me nuts. Wish cops would actually ticket that.

the best restaurant in the area is Roberto's, which is actually on Crescent (one block from Arthur).

of the others, I have been to Dominick's and Rigoletto. The former has long tables, you sit with people you don't know, and everything is served family style. It's very good, though.

The latter is a real "scene" like out of a mob movie. it is reputed (according to the Feds, no less) to be owned by a capo in the Genovese family.

They do. I've been nailed heading to the Holland. The bitch is that the guy in front of me stopped 1/2 car length short which left me in the intersection. The cop had no sympathy. However, I got to unload a stream of profanity on the "dumb motherfucker in front of me who apparently just got his fucking license" as the cop was writing me up. He just smiled.

That's one of the nice things about NYC cops - you can unload in front of them as long as it's directed at someone else.

They're putting up a new condo across the street from me. Shallow foundation has been dug and now they're driving girders into the dirt with some type of impact driver on the end of a excavator. My 12 story building is shaking and my dishes are rattling.

    Day one.
