I'm looking for a reasonably priced ($150 - $300) semi-brogue, cap-toe, balmoral shoe. Any leads on which company makes such a shoe in this price range?

Check out Pediwear and Herring.

You can get Crockett and Jones Westfields from Pediwear for a little over $300. You should also check out the Trickers and Grensons there.

At Herring, you can get some Churchs seconds for under $300, or Herring's own brand, the Premiere (by Cheaney) have some very nice ones including an Adelaide style semi brogue called Raleigh II. Herrings Classic range run to about $200.

I would take any of these over AEs in my opinion. Only downside is sizing...

This would be my choice . . . unless I wanted to mess around on ebay for a couple of weeks.

+1, my favorite C&J style. Recently got these in dark brown, considering the suede version as my next purchase.
