From Chicago but for the next 6months will be working in the Phoenix market, looking for reasonable priced suits and a good tailor. Also what I should look for in a suit, nice shirt and shoes? I know you may get these questions all the time but I couldn't find them.

For tailors in Phoenix, the best is Cameron Fakeri of Fakeri Tailors, although he is in Chandler, a Phoenix suburb. For suits, suits, ties, etc. we have The Clotherie, Carters, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, Barneys, Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom. If you are really just learning about dressing professionally for the first time, keep searching. You will find all your answers on the forum.

All can be found with a little effort and will be more rewarding than a new thread.

Browse through the first half the whnay's good taste thread. You can skip a lot of later stuff as it gets more hit or miss and devolves into the What Are You Wearing Now thread.

You can read through that one, too.

I'm more of a visual learner and you'll quickly see color and fabric combinations that look really good together.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
