Rearmost Belt Loop Leaving Marks in Belts - How to Prevent This?

This is a slight but pervasive annoyance, especially when wearing one of my nicer imported belts. I'll wear my pants/belt all day and when I eventually remove the belt, the rearmost belt loop has left a mark, indenting the belt on itself slightly. I feel that sometimes the belt's shape may even slightly change, almost "boomeragning" at the middle, if you will.

I'm sure I am not alone in this little pet peeve. Can anybody tell me if this is typical or if, perhaps, something is not fitting me properly. I'm medium build, about a 33" waste.

Couple thoughts. Is your belt too wide for the height of the loops? Is the center loop sewn down flat at the top of the loop?

We sew the loop with a pleat at the top so the loop has some play in it. The loop is the same height as the waistband but the loop folds over at the top and is sewn to the waistband about 1/2" below the fold. This helps some.

The boomeranging effect just happens due to the curving of the belt around the waist and how we bend and move.
