Really short suit jacket - new trend?

May be this is a new fashion trend but I am seeing more often men wearing suit jacket that is disproportionally short. The hem of the jacket ends where the sleeves end, just barely pass the waist and hardly cover the behind at all. Is this a new fashion statement?

OP is WAYYYY behind the curve here, they've been popular for some years, and we've already passed the climax of the look. If anything, we're just waiting for the decline.

No denying it. However only after I came to SF did it turn into an adjective. (see vox in my sig)
