Found a dead nice RLBL solid charcoal wool/cashmere suit in my local Saks Off Fifth.

It fits soooo nice - I've never tried RLBL on before; it makes me look like I've dropped 10lbs.

The store is doing a 30% discount, so I could snag this for $560.

My only concern is the wool/cashmere blend is a bit warm/thick with spring/summer coming up here, plus I don't really need a new suit, but hell, I'd never even think of dropping ~ $1.5k on this new, so...thoughts?

sounds like a no-brainer to me. you might be able to find it a little cheaper somewhere else at some point (like on this website), but if it looks good on you, I would take the plunge. Wool/cashmere blend is fine year-round.

It's up to you, but I have happily paid more for BL.

Yes, it's slightly less than what I paid for mine, and it is my favorite suit--though I am tall and skinny with wide shoulders and mine fit me almost perfectly off the rack with no alterations.

I never understand comments like this, unless it's intended to be sarcastic and I am just slow. Is $600 to much to spend on a fully-canvased suit? It retails for more than $2K now. Because someone, somewhere got this price, does it mean that no one should ever pay more--even if finding the suit at this price would require a lot of time and effort, and your time is presumably valuable if you have a job that requires you to wear a suit? Is there a thin-cut suit of comparable quality out there that can easily be found for $240? If so, I would love to know.

I saw several RLBL solid-color suits going for a similar price at my local Off Fifth this past weekend. Unfortunately none in my size. *sigh* I did have a friendly conversation with one of the associates concerning the rampant sorting/sizing errors by the associates on the European-sized suits, i.e. 56L Isaia marked as 40L US. \t

One of these days they'll have a 40L and I'll be all over it. Or so I keep telling myself. Has to be a reason to keep driving out there...

Thanks for clearing that up--sometimes hard for me to get sarcasm in written text.

Are there particular lines of Kiton and Isaia that are thin cut that I should be looking out for as I troll the Internet for bargains?

Check eBay--great deals to be had from a number of mainland China-based sellers.
