Really esoteric windows question

When watching movies in windows mediaplayer, or youtube apparently, in full screen mode the screen automatically reverts to regular screen after exactly ten minutes. I have tried altering the settings, checking Microsoft's websites, everything. Is this just a built-in setting? I don't understand why it does this with both Windows Mediaplayer and Youtube and does it on both my toshiba satellite and my sony vaio.

Any suggestions?

Does it occur if you don't move the mouse around for exactly 10 minutes? It seems like there's something being triggered, possibly to keep your system from going to screensaver mode or similar.

I've seen this happen when the computer thinks the screensaver is supposed to come on.

There should be a setting in Media Player somewhere that disables screensaver when movies are being played. Try checking that.

Have you tried locking fullscreen in WMP (little button in the bottom right hand corner)?
