Hello

Can anyone tell me if this Versace tie is real or fake?

Its very thin and theres no lining much beyond the opening and no interlining at all. Also no materials composition label.

Any help will be very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance for any replies.

Pretty sure it's fake. Or it isn't fake then it's vintage 1980s/90s
Yeah - I bought it on eBay and the seller insists its 80s/90s. But I can find any comparable examples. The label looks poorly sewn and it feels thin and lacking quality. I know that thickness doesn't mean quality necessarily, but I can't help but think its fake

it's always hard to tell honestly with Vintage gear. Generally speaking, if it's too cheap on eBay it's normally for a reason...

Do consider though that it's a rather "wild" pattern that not many people would buy today, even if it had Kiton written all over it, so I think the price is fair if it's authentic (which I cannot judge). The only thing that strikes me is the imperfect tip. This is usually the first place I look. A high quality tie will have a near perfect square tip (lined or unlined) if you look at ththe back of the tie and the edges of the folded over fabric will be same width along the bottom edges of the tip. Diagonal patterns on the front will run parallel to the bottom edges of the tip. This tie looks put together a bit sloppy, which makes me doubt it's authenticity as well.

Yes - I noticed that. The fold tapers to the lining rather than maintaining a regular parrallel distance on the tipping.
I'm suspicious

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
