I'd concur with PB: you definitely need a solid charcoal suit.

Maybe a few more shirts? If you're limited in your budget, shirts are a good way to introduce a bit of variety into your day-to-day looks without having to invest in lots of different suits.

Given the limited budget you have, I'd say you did pretty good. I would concur with the last two posters though, more shirts are a must. I would concentrate on that, perhaps even over a charcoal suit right away though I suppose it depends on what you need all of this for.

What's the point in buying a charcoal worsted suit if everyone has one? Steal one.

Sorry, you seemed to have read this wrong...I listed seven new shirts that I picked up. In total I probably have about 20 joseph abboud shirts in my closet. I'm still in the prcess of getting my jantzen fit down, but will be ordering some of those soon.

Someone did mention shoes, and I think that is an area that I would like to spend the bulk of my money...I think it is a good investment.

AE is a little to conservative, but I like the style of Aldens.

I will be travelling to England this summer and thinking of picking up some Grensons or Loakes in London. Any other thoughts? In a perfect world, I would like to pick up three nice pairs for about $600.00.

Do you get the VAT tax back when you leave England?

I can't remember if there are summer sales, but during them, I've been able to get Crockett & Jones at Gordon Scott on Bond Street for under $200 a pair. Loake and Grenson are not the easiest to find in London, oddly enough. I have not been impressed with the lower Grenson and Loake lines, anyway, and think they're below AE and Alden.

If you're going to be there a while, you could have Pediwear deliver a few pairs to your hotel (shipping in the UK is free) and then simply return the ones you don't want. Perhaps more trouble than it's worth, but....

Any particular reason why Joseph Abboud is running roughshod in your closet?

His medium shirts and 40R sizing fits me really well.
He is also from my hometown, went to my college, and has a great story. Oh and there is an ebay seller that has a ton of his older closeout stuff really cheap.
I wouldn't buy anything from the newly designed label though, he is not involved at all anymore and the stuff is all from the orient and cheap at best.

To be so concentrated on one brand isn't ideal. Different brands, different styles make the wardrobe more interesting to you and others.

A merino wool sweater would be a nice addition. A silk casual shirt is prudent. Khakis and corduroys are always good to have. There are other possibilities, but this sounds like a rather youthful wardrobe and the budget is small.

A silk casual shirt is prudent.

    prudent

adj 1: careful and sensible; marked by sound judgment; "a prudent manager"; "prudent rulers"; "prudent hesitation"; "more prudent to hide than to fight" [ant: imprudent] 2: showing wise self-restraint in speech and behavior especially in preserving prudent silence; "maintained a prudent silence"

I'm not sure which one of these a silk shirt falls under?

Unless one is maintaining a prudent silence because his silk shirt does the talking for him? (I suspect it will say something like "Hi, I'm Ron Jeremy").

In all seriousness, I think that the silk shirt is damn tricky to pull off, especially with what looks like a trad wardrobe...
