I have a weird question. I got a pair of painted Margielas wet. Shockingly, the paint ran like crazy and the shoes look super worn, even though I've had them for ~2 weeks. Can I re-paint them, and if so, what should I paint them with?

What was the base material? This should be fine, the painted margielas use acrylic paint. Just find some acrylic paint, mix it with some water to dilute it, then apply with a dry paintbrush or a dry roller.

Haha. Why do you need pics? But sure -- give me a sec.

We want to find out what the hell this looks like.

I really liked the concept (the all-white GATs looked amazing), but if it starts raining and they run, that's a huge deal-breaker.

That is acrylic paint, it will happen even if you re-paint them. You are more than welcome to paint them again, but it will crack and lose paint in all those spots eventually. I suggest just wearing them.

This thread makes me so sad.

The idea of shoes getting ruined by the rain depresses me.

I agree with Fycus. In the DIY thread people have re-painted their painted GATs before but it was the ones where the entire shoe was painted with just bits of the sole peeking out. You can check there.
