Is this possible? common?

I got a very nice wool coat with tattered/stained faux silk lining.

I'd love to get it re-lined in something tastefull and warm.

Anyone ever tried to do it by themself? I'm considering taking an adult-ed sewing course to do so.

I wouldn't attempt to do it myself, personally. Might just be worth it to source a nice lining and have the local tailor take to it.

+1. It's not a super advanced project, but if you like the coat, it's worth having someone do it for you.

Thanks,
It's a (nice) $4 goodwill find, so I'm hesitant to take it to a pro for fear of being laughed out the door.
