Re-hydrating cigars

Although I started a thread about cigars that's now pinned at the top of this sub-forum, I've let my interest in cigars wane to the point that I now have a humidor with a bunch of good cigars that have been neglected and drying out for at least three years but possibly as long as five or six years. So, is there any way to re-hydrate these cigars to the point that they will be enjoyable again? Thanks, H_S.

Actually, it looks like they're probably about 7 years old. These are mostly the same cigars that led me to start the other thread in 2004.

I had a cigar recently that had been dried out but nowhere near as long as you. It was actually pretty good but not what the maker had in mind. There are companies that will re-hydrate them for you, I'd send yours to them if you want to give it a shot.

I always thought that putting them in a well humidified humidor would eventually get them back in shape.
My dad just gave me 2 Fuente Opus Xs that he left in a neglected humidor over the summer. I've had them in mine for 2 months now and they seem to be softening up. Might try one tonight.

True. Good luck. Keep us informed.
Just smoked a Rodrigo. Local guy label. Had an event at local B&M. Decent smoke.

All the oils will have evaporated. You can re-hydrate them in the usual way until they're smokable again but they'll just taste like paper.
