One-off sample as claimed, a rather creative fake or some line of raw denim unknown to me?

The back pocket J-stitch is a bit off and I can't tell whether it's fake or real selvage. It looks decent enough to be worth 20-30 bucks.

Could be real. Sometime last year, GQ had one of those "10 essential items for the season" type advertorials, including "a pair of raw selvage jeans" - one sample of which was provided by PDC.

So it's entirely possible that PDC thought about hitting the raw selvage market, made some samples, then changed their minds.

(This in contrast to the RPM, which is selvage, but distressed selvage.)
