so, i took my pair of New Standards to the local oriental dry cleaners to get it hemmed. bad move i know. i made sure to say "DONT WASH IT" like 5 times... but i did not even think that they would iron/press the thing

luckily it only had about 10-15 days of moderate use... but it sucks to see my work all gone.

and guess what... they PLEATED IT in the front, as if it were a pair of dress pants. what kind of moron puts front pleats on jeans?! unbelievable. so now i had to take it back so they can press it again to get rid of that

anyway, my question is... will this ruin the process of breaking in/fading in anyway? let me know if this might be an issue.

thanks

Not sure how firm the press was but you might see some lines a few months down the road.

And please feel free to ask this kind of question in the "I Have A Jean" thread next time instead of starting a thread entitled, "raw denim"...

well what am i supposed to do? i want them to get rid of the crease. should i take it back before they press it again?

so pressing raw denim is really that bad? are these jeans basically ruined?

clearly im freaking out a little. would it be best to just sell these jeans as damaged goods on ebay (explaining what happened of course) and buy another pair?

I think he said "Fool me you can't get fooled again." So it's perfectly fine to go back to the same place without risk of being fooled again.

Dude, buy a ******* iron and iron the crease flat. You didn't ruin your jeans. Wear them day in and day out Everything will be fine.
