so wanting to buy a OCBD made in the USA at my price point (~60-70usd), these Brooks Brothers shirts are the only business in town. this is a 15.5 x 35. the neck fits, arms could use an extra half inch, but the real problem are these shoulders. are they to small for me? would i be better off getting a 16 x 35 having a slightly loose neck, take in the body, to have better fitting shoulders?

They're too narrow for my taste, but as I you can see, there are a lot of people here who would differ.

The shirt/shoulders are too small, esp when you are evaluating a OCBD.

Regards.

yeah 15.5 35 is the longest arm size in that neck size if that makes sense. damn my long arms
i think i'm just going to have to go with the 16 x36 and get it taken in on the sides... arrrghh

Those shoulders are way too narrow. I wear my OCBDs with the shoulders slightly more extended than on my dressier shirts; it seems more appropriate for the relaxed nature of the shirt.

Otherwise the end results risks being a pastiche.

Brooks' "Create Your Own" shirts start at $127.50 these days, when not on sale. I'd suggest looking into that, if you can't find other suitable options. $70 is still a lot to drop on a shirt that doesn't fit.
