Well over this weekend - I decided to hit the town and see whats new on 'chip strip'. Its a strip of nothing but bars and clubs in a 3 block radius. I tend to stay away from these clubs/bars because they are filled with nothing but trashy people who really don't know how to dress - and pretend like they do.

Example 1: I was just relaxing drinking my cocktail then I notice this kid with a dress shirt with some sort of hideous design on it. Look at it a little bit closer - it was the Versace logo blown up like 100 fold. I think to my self wow - what was this guy thinking when he was surfing ebay and decided to buy this nightmare. But then again - I am sure it was only $29.99 buy it now.

Example 2: Guy walks in wearing Versace jeans and Hoodie - Perfect example of a douche bag. On the white hoodie in bold lettering said VERSACE - just incase you wanted to know. On the jeans on right leg - which covered pretty much the whole upper half of his leg - 'VERSACE' but it was patched in w/ some ugly denim badge.

Example 3: Fatter guy walks into another club - wearing a white hoodie sweat shirt - and of course in big bold writing 'ARMINI'.

Now - Why this bugs me is because you could totally tell these are fake shirts, nothing about them has any thing top notched about them. No gusset, no signs of tailored fit, ****** buttons, single button mid cuff, button down collar, no box pleat. They also look like in most cases the shirt is way to tight like - 2x sizes to small - and no not a nice fitted look more of a guy put on a woman's shirt look. Or WAY to big - they are littering floating it. Now when you look at a shirt from such a high end designer such as Versace, Prada and etc you would except some of these traits.

Now I am not trying to hate on people who like to stay on a budget - or who cant afford the higher end clothes - but stick to whats good to there fit. Express, Banna Republic, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Ralph Lauren are all great clothes at a very affordable price. Also when they have there clearance sales - you can get them dirt cheap - cheaper then the $30 ebay knock off. I know because I always try to catch those sales.

Not anyone has the eye to spot fakes like you(we) do, they figure (and with a point) that most people just look at it and assume it's legit, and since they're likely on a budget, they want cheap stuff that they know will standout. It won't pass the "certified" test but it will appeal to the general masses

If it has ARMENIANI plastered all over the ass, who cares if it's geniune or fake?

Why don't you tell us how you really feel? Lol, you know, I always wonder who actually buys that stuff when I see it on ebay... Glad I don't meet them! I don't understand it either though, I'm not a fan of logos at all from the start, but that stuff is just tacky. I guess its how the gene pool gets dumber and dumber, someone actually thinks its real and also doesn't reach the conclusion that people who try so hard to look rich never are, and a new low is reached. O well, at least I just have to look at all the girls with fake purses here in St. Louis, but it can give me a guide as to who to avoid...or not for some...

You cant take those (no gusset, pleats, etc) as indications that an item is fake. Size also isnt an indication its fake.

True - Only a few of my Zegna's have Gusset's. But usually when you buy a nice dress shirt from a decent shop / store - the sales person helps you choice the right fit. Unless they bought it online from here or a rep dealer and did not know there proper measurements. THEN YES YOU ARE CORRECT.

I understand your point, I ust think that these are not guidlines for spotting fakes.

I get a good chuckle out of seeing douches wearing fake stuff. Its like my own little inside oke as most of my friends dont give a crap about clothes, never mind labels.
