If I recall correctly, Dan Gurney stands at 6'2" or maybe 6'3". He fit rather comfortably in the confines of the Ferrari Daytona Berlinetta that he co-drove with Brock Yates in the 1971 Cannonball Baker Trophy Dash. They took a day and a half to drive across America! Wow!

Alternately, a fellow can always have a Gurney bubble fit into the roof of his otherwise restrictive exotic's interior.

Great story and pics.

One of the only things I remember about my grandfather was his Bentley Fastback. I think that maybe my uncle still has it.

No better way to enjoy the wilderness than plow through it in a $90,000 SUV.

Is the 430 F1 paddles or the old fashioned manual?

Is the E-Type that much of a maintenance headache? I suspect it requires as much maintenance as any older English car. There are plenty of people who use old MGs as daily drivers.

Yes, Lucas the Prince of Darkness. Some of the old '50s and '60s Volvos also used a Lucas system, I recall. They even had Jensen build their initial run of the P1800. Although by the time of the '60s, English cars were suitably outdated compared to the Germans.

True, all the car dealers I've spoken to says that you have too have another car if you buy an Jaguar because of the maintanence and all the problems that comes with that.

And I have to thank you for the great post!
If you have any sparetime you could be a photograph-man and make some nice cash from car dealerships

Oh, I have a 20 yr old (pre-Ford) Jag. She gave me very little trouble in the electrical department.

Z, if you ever come to Montreal for the GP I'll buy you dinner at the restaurant of your choice in exchange for a ride in that car ;p You really do take beautiful pictures of it.
