1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Well, at least I heard some talk of Carl Orff earlier on, so I don't feel too out of the loop. As you can tell, I have a thing for sacred and classical music, but I'm also into a lot of alternative and classic rock. Go figure.

Saw Drive-By Truckers up there earlier, too. "Outfit", no less. Pretty funny to see on the playlist of a dude with a Morrissey avatar and name, on a board called "StyleForum." [IMG]

I try and listen to as much good stuff as I can, regardless of genre; interestingly, though, both Moz and Marr were huge fans of rockabilly, which is about as authentically Southern as it gets, so...actually, there's no real connection there - not sure what I was getting at...

Also, I'm too lazy/dumb to have a cool avatar, Morrissey or no...[IMG]

Their version of Truck Drivin' Man is one of those songs that I have to repeat several times on the player whenever it comes up.

11: Stone Temple Pilots - Interstate Love Song
So a couple of years ago, I'm listening to one of those Nickelback/Creed/Live/RHCP kind of corporate-rock radio stations, and the announcer is reading the 'news':

"Scott Weiland, lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots, is in trouble with the law again! Weiland, who has already been convicted of cocaine possession, was just arrested for spousal abuse - for beating up his wife!"

    Pause.

"Still... they make some great music, though!"

    Cue Interstate Love Song. [IMG]

    Today's list:

    1. Jacknife Lee - Juice Machine
    2. Kinobe - Grass Roots Horizon

    Roky Erickson - [IMG]
There's a pretty cool Roky Erickson cover/tribute album that came out a while back (I'm reaching the age where I can refer to 10-15 years ago as "a while back"), called "Where The Pyramid Meets The Eye". That album was my first introduction to the sadly short-lived Sister Double Happiness, among others.
Edit: Crap, make that 17 years ago.

I love the randomness of Run, Run, Run and Nag, Nag, Nag on the same playlist.
