I think I have to reconsider what makes one a "good driver". I've been in a country where there are ostensibly traffic laws, dudes pretty much go how how fast as they want, go where they want etc. and they don't have accidents. Meanwhile, in the states, accidents aplenty. WTF mang.

Because in those countries everybody knows what to expect from their driving. If you drive as a "safe driver" would in the US over in Cairo you'll probably crash quite quickly because you're doing it differently to everybody else and they don't know what you're doing. That's my theory anyway.

So I'm reading about sharks. And the author was saying something like sharks are 300 million years old (can't remember exact numbers it was approx. that) and then mentioned another shark skeleton found recently that is 430 million years old. and i realized, that's completely meaningless. I have no idea of gauging what 40 000 years would be like. ****.

you ever think there are like, only so many faces/ways people can look in the world? Like I just saw a photo of someone and they had the exact same face as one of my friends. anyway, it made me think...

this is a 100% serious question.

i have noticed a few houses in my neighborhood that have a single candle (looks electric) positioned in the center of the sill in each window. i am assuming this is a religious practice. can anyone here confirm this, and if so what is the reason/meaning/symbolism behind it? or is there another explanation?

I don't get why we keep casting shows and movies with skinny wives and fat husbands when it is so often the other way around

Skinny good looking husband with a seriously overweight wife

A number of my friends who married their college girlfriends ended up staying thin while the wife put on 30-50lbs
