I'm going to join a soccer league with some friends. I haven't played since I was cut from the freshman high school team. Any tips for getting back in the game? My friend wants to groom me into being a defender.

DB's target biceps and lateral delts as well as the pecs/front delts/tris you get from BB. The trade-off is that you move less weight and so you get less overall activation in the target muscle.

As per SHA - don't be afraid to lay people out. Squats have helped my game as far as strength, but I'd start amping up your cardio as well. Plus, nothing substitutes having a ball at your feet, so just start playing wherever you can to get back into the flow and speed of things.

I'll only speak from experience that I found these two are easier on my shoulders than the flat bench. I actually kinda hate flat benching.

I find incline bench much more comfortable then flat bench and I can actually activate my chest. Also i have a hard time activating my chest when using a barbell and I get no shoulder pain from dbs, also I dont need a spot. Also apparently incline develops upper chest more for dem aesthetics. Agree with APK fucking hate flat benching, without a doubt my least favourite movement, just hate doing it. Don't feel that way at all about incline db bench. Its the only chest movement I do now, don't see any point in doing 4 sets of incline then 4 sets of flat when the flat feels shit and I don't feel anything in my chest when I can just do another 4 sets of incline.

it's odd cuz i've never experienced shoulder problems doing bench, but maybe i'm just not pushing enough weight yet

    a follow question then is

why not just do a movement that trains biceps and lateral delts like raises or curls? it seems like an inefficient way to train biceps and delts if that's what you're going for

Have no idea what graphic is talking about with the lateral heads and biceps. Maybe you'll get a bit more shoulder involvement, but I've never noticed it in my biceps at all. I perform incline db bench press to make my chest bigger.

When they say that DB recruits "stabilizers" that's what's stabilizing them.
