    LOL foam roll neck...no..

    Neck stretching sure.
    You may be "chicken" necking and using it when not needed, stressing the traps and other things.

    Foam rolling would be great, but it's hard to get into the neck very well. I got this thing called a "davinci tool" on Amazon that is great for neck rolling. Worth a try.

    good, its slowing down a bit but still on pace for at least 1lb/week. gains are starting to slow down, but im always able to tack on a rep or 5lbs here or there. gut is starting to thin noticeably too. how is it with you??

    We had a 45min conversation last Friday about working around my hip/groin injury and he decided to reduce my calories again to speed things up a bit and also off-set a few things. I was losing a steady 1–1.5lbs a week, but it's was getting slower, so I am hoping these new numbers will put me back on track. I am down a total of 13.5lbs since January 18th and lost about 5% bf, I guess the good news (at least from what John tells me) all the weight I've lost has been pure fat and I should be happy even if it's a half pound. If this trend continues, I could be under 180lbs in the next couple months :slayer:

    Yes, I am 99% sure that is the issue. Any advice on how to address this or is it more on an exercise by exercise basis?

    Pretty much, keep neutral neck on everything...scaps retracted etc etc..I guess if you're confused ask me in regards to what exercise

    I have had the same problem. Any sort of heavy overhead pressing leaves my neck feeling out of sorts for days. I've found a few things that help with pain management:

    - Massage/acupuncture are always great for pain relief, if a bit pricey.
    - Rolling up a hand-towel and placing it under your neck while laying flat on the floor supports the neck so the muscles can relax.
    - Self administered hot/cold therapy

    As far as preventing it from happening, I've seen great benefits from investing in one of those contoured pillows that support the neck. My sense (at least for myself) is that it's more of a postural problem that happens to be exacerbated by exercise, rather than just an exercise issue.

    You look solid at that size, I hope I can even get close to that when I reach that weight. I can't do too much until I get this injury thing taken care of, but I'm cutting (slowly) right now and the plan I'm on doesn't call for pushing heavy weight...

    really strong back arch, legs pulled back into your body and pushing really hard into the ground, ass had to stay on the bench and forcing your traps into the bench as hard as you can.
