As with a lot of sports, to be highly competitive, not all things are "healthy" haha

But R, you can be as healthy as you want and squat 225 ;) :p

Saw a dude walk into the weight room wearing these today:

I got all excited in anticipation of witnessing some serious iron being thrown around, and trying to guess how much he was gonna put up (I was thinking maybe 100kg C&J or 140kg squat based on his build).

Then he proceeded to do 5x5 dips, different inclines on bench with 35-45lb DBs, and 95lb upright barbell rows.

    Sigh.

Are those standard ratios for squat to clean? Cannot imagine cleaning 100kg without getting a lot stronger.

there really are no standard ratios wrt cleans and the FS and BS. The only sure thing is that if you can't front squat it it's highly probable you won't clean it either (b/c you can't stand up with the weight). The chinese coaches have a mantra for their athletes that a FS 20kg above a clean will mean .5 chance of success, 30kg above will mean a likely success and 40kg above that the lifter won't almost certainly be pinned by it.

Increases in your front squat won't relate 1-to-1 to your max cleans, if you have bad technique they can seem to be even irrelevant.

what can be said though is that better technique will allow one to get by with much less top end strength.. that's not to say that limit strength isn't needed, rather than a dude with impeccable technique might have a FS 1RM only some tens of kg above his max clean and have no problems cleaning the weight whereas someone with shittier technique can front squat the world but still be pinned by their max cleans.

:tounge: Seriously, I've been doing the opposite of my warmup after a workout, is that the right thing to do or should I stretch like after a run?

I hate judging people quickly, so I kept thinking "OK, maybe he's just warming up" and then "Alright he's going to a platform, maybe now he'll do something awesome." But by the end, I wanted to just go take his shoes so I could try them out haha

Nothing. I don't even stretch or warm up before my work sets.
