Speaking of sort of first person experience:

My girlfriend started going to the gym with me. She said that before she was intimidated, but since going with me, she realizes that more than half do not know what they are doing in the gym and it's nothing to be scared of

well boo-fucking-hoo then. If people are dicks, then you have to up your own dickness to the next level. If one can't be bothered with a few hrs of internets research and is intimidated by the average gymgoer, then maybe (just maybe) the lump in their throat is actually their other testicle (the sensible one), who has correctly surmised that the person they are currently stationed with is in fact a huge pussy and is making its exit.

confused what you talking about, explain?

Edit: Oh I get what you mean, never mind, your saying that if one can't correctly perform a deadlift you shouldn't be doing squats?

had to take a video of the personal training at a gym i was at the other day. At another gym the trainer was telling a newbie to do squats with one of those inflatable balls on his back, the newbie had obviously done some research and was asking about deadlifts. The trainer told him they would do some later with dumbells. The dumbells go up to 25kg. Why are are personal trainers terrible at their job?

You realize that means you'll have to stop jerking off while looking in the mirror right?

No i meant literally jerking off to yourself in the mirror. Because it's what narcissistic people do.

This joke is less funny now that I have to explain it. :(

Today I learned what a hook grip truly is... All this time I just assumed hook grip meant what is actually mixed grip. I tried it out for my warmup sets and starting at 135#, my thumbnail literally felt like it was being ripped out. :fu:

Definitely going to start using it more from now on but I'll have to scale back as I get used to it.

You'll be fine ;) it just feels that way.

Well until you get to some serious weight. My coach's thumbnail actually ripped out completely on a ~760 deadlift. :slayer:
