Cant figure out if good mornings are doing good things or bad things to my back.

I have been doing 4 x 12 at 120lbs (squat is 160lbs at 5x5 by comparison) and afterwards it feels like someone is pushing my lower back forward with their finger. It doesnt feel particularly painful but it does seem like more than the "pump" you get post workout.

Could this just be part of the process that comes with building lower back strength and I should stick it out or should I cut out the GMs / lower the weight? The feeling generally goes away in about 12-24 hours.

I dont feel like I am pushing the weight up with my back, it seems to be coming through my lower body but it is possible that lowering the weight would fix the issue.

That a pretty fucking strong good morning for that weight squat. I suspect you're not doing them correctly. Shit, for 12 reps I couldn't get anywhere near 120

Yeah, my google-fu is weak as of late. Think they're calling it Adipower now and not adistar. Anyways look like pretty cool kicks, very similar to the Romaleos.

So I have 2 hours before my midterm, I pulled an all nighter out of sheer panic.

Better to sleep for an hour? Or just power through it?

definitely DO NOT SLEEP FOR A MOMENT. You're already through the worst part (early hrs of the morning), now just go and ace that exam and then enjoy some quality shuteye.

This coming from a guy who passed his masters level macro retake having been up a solid 26 hrs.

Can't tell you anything with certainty unless you get a clear video (from the side) of your good mornings and squats.

I usually don't see fuji-gym-level absurd shit at my gym but yesterday, two scrawny dudes were powering through some reverse-grip overhead presses (with what looked to be maybe 65 pounds) while seated on a stability ball... in the squat rack!

We've only got three squat racks now that there are separate weight rooms for general use and the sports teams, so any tomdickery in the squat rack now is even less excusable than before.

YES get some sleep. Studies show a little sleep (45 minutes-2 hours) is better than none.

The more and more I go to the gym, the more I see just some absurd shit.

Dudes packing on weight and doing 1/4 ROM Squats is a regular occurrence, but the other day there was a guy doing DB lunges IN THE GODDAMN SQUAT RACK. I couldn't believe it. You can do DB lunges ANYWHERE ON EARTH and he chose to occupy 1 of 2 squat racks in the gym...I'm sure the other one was taken by a dude doing shrugs. :fu:

A couple weeks ago, there was a dude bench pressing 95 lbs and acting like he was pushing 350 off his chest. He'd struggle with his 7-8 reps of 95, grunt at the end, then walk around the gym looking at himself in the mirror and touching his pumped up chest. I actually got video of that.

Also, i believe this is the titty picture in question?
EDIT: in case the spoiler tag wasn't obvious to you enough, this picture is NSFW.

C'mon now, don't embed NSFW images in threads that are generally SFW.

"tomdickery" has been added to my computer's dictionary.

Wonderful stories of uneducated broism. I'll be on the lookout today to add some good material.

Cant wait to get back in the gym tomorrow. Gonna do some heavy deadlifts as i havent done any for ages. Think my routine will look something like this for a while:

    1)
deadlifts working up to a 3 or 5RM.
    lat pull down 3 x 8
    T-bar rows 3 x 8
DB curls 2 or 3 sets

    2)
Bench, working up probably adding weight to 5rm and aiming for 3 reps etc.
    maybe incline bench?
    Dips x failure
    3 x 8 close grip bench

    3)
    Squats working up to 3RM
    overhead press 3 x 8
    something else???

Does this sound reasonable? I will be eating plenty at least for the next couple of weeks. Wondering if i should bench more than once a week, maybe lighter one day and heavy the other?
