OHP today, attempted 5x5 at 95lbs. First four were fine, last one I only did four, very frustrating not getting that last one up. I don't think I am going to be able to jump to 100lbs next time around. Would you guys stick at 95lbs and try to do assistance work to break through (face pulls, push presses etc) or move down to 3x5?

    This.

Tell your "bro" I said he's a "fucking idiot that doesn't know what he's talking about and to put down the Muscle and Fitness magazine."

I tried asking my girlfriend next to me and she said she doesn't care... :( :( :(

dont get mad about failing on 5x5 ohp. that is a lot of volume for that lift and it guaranteed shits out when you're doing that many sets. if i were you, i would just roll with 3x5, 5x5 on ohp is plateau city. i use ohp as an assistance lift and i've gone an entire month using the same poundage.

Considering starting just so I can be unique and indie in my tricep work.

Bro workout today, acquiring aesthetics. Did my usual 5x2 ME box squats, felt really solid today. Then tried 20 reps with just 60kg which should have been piss easy considering my 1rm. I don't usually go above 2 reps on my squats. Felt like death, gonna start doing them once a week because it should not be that hard when its like under 50% my 1rm. Then I did curls, don't hate me style forums, I want the aesthetics, 15" arms look shit at 6'3". I also did leg extensions......

Just out of curiosity, how do your JM / close grip / guillotine press weights compare with your bench press?

My close grip 1rm is like 5 or 10kg less then my normal bench. This is with testing it right after my normal bench 1rm as well. I don't really bench with my chest.

The other day I did BP 5x5 at 165, close grip 4x12 at 105 and guillotines 4x12 at 90. Was curious if those spreads are fairly normal.....

guillotine and close grip seems low, specifically guillotine. I assume you did them one after another though so your strength will drop.
