    Haha

Love me some high rep facepulls.

2 sets of 20-25 with a band. Burns so good.

so i wonder if that would actually work. just as you would strengthen your grip by doing static holds instead of deadlifting, i wonder if you would swole up from doing static low-bar holds. im not being entirely serious with this, more of a "what-if" but i'm curious if that would work.

i hate curling. easily my least favourite movement, maybe its because i suck at them due to long monkey arms.

i hate my long monkey arms kinda, but realized it shows definition more? i look at the mirror and say 'sup bro' (5)

still benching 135lbs after 3 week off at the gym, felt easier as well (AND i did not eat prior to workout)

Going to try and bench my body weight ASAP (150lbs)

Saw dude pull 225lb DL then 315lb after, then failed at 365lb i think
I hope my 225lb DL 3x5 did not go to shit tomorrow (I am pretty sure it did). Really fucking sad. My proudest lift achievement and all gone down the shitter after 3 weeks. My bro said you lose muscle/strength every week :(

Bro is chatting shit, stop thinking about it. If you're not confident you won't be able to get the weight off the floor. Really don't worry about it, 3 weeks is nothing. Monkey arms is good, means you can deadlift more.

Also how do I get aesthetic calves for the summer? Deadlifts and squats aren't exactly doing much.

Have any of you guys had to let out the trousers on your suits? How'd they come out?
I got fitted for a new suit recently and the tailor said it was almost at the point where he'd suggest I had the seat let out.

I rather a tight fit in the seat than have saggy suit ass if those are my options.

I made the most gains on madcow, went back on 5/3/1 but it's also likely due to 2/3 injuries I've suffered from it in the last year. I thought my back healed from overwork a month or so ago since I did 315 x 5 dl's last week no problem. This week I tried 315 and on the 2nd rep I felt a popping in my lower right back followed by that familiar pain. Not as bad as last time though because I didn't continue. Fucking shit lame though.

Anyway, I'd say if you can't rep 3x5 1.5x bw (not 1RM) then you should still be doing SS intermediate and then SS advanced.

You can do Greyskull Linear Progression, which is similar to SS but:
    - no squats on wednesday
    - last set is AMRAP (as many reps as possible)
    - you reset 10% on the lift if you're not able to get at least 5 reps on the last set.

The AMRAPs and resets are good for swoleness. If you want to avoid that for lower body you could probably not go AMRAP on the squats and just stick to straight sets of 3x5 or 3x3 instead.

    Toast - nice avatar. :)

Guys, how realistic is it to go from a fairly sedentary lifestyle to completing the Tough Mudder event 9 months from now? I think it's a pretty good goal to start running/working out once more after having a baby 6 months ago and not having any time for fitness. There is no way I could do the event now, or even a few months from now - but how about 9 months? Thoughts?

Nine months is a long time. I don't know what kind of shape you're in right now, but it definitely seems doable if you're committed to training hard. A fairly basic endurance running program supplemented with bodyweight exercises would probably work well.

The event itself seems pretty cool, although I did get a slightly douchey Crossfit-esque vibe from it.

May be anecdotal, but the gf def enjoys grabbing my ass more than chest or arms (now that I actually have one). Th-thanks low bar squats.

Benched 150# today for 5x5. Wasn't too hard. feelsgoodman

Starting to feel strain on the insides of my knees while squatting. feelsbadman I'm starting to suspect my stance width and foot angle for the first time (and starting to suspect it may be causing some of the weird twinges in my hip). Thought my knees might be buckling, but had someone watch me and said I was doing a decent job forcing them out on the way up. Dunno... back to the drawing board.
