been out sick. hoping to make a comeback beginning january...missed a week so far, going into 2 weeks.
a little sad/deterred but i think i mentally needed this break. been at the gym since Oct. 17 (earlier than that actually).
i hope my lifts do not go to shit b/c i made some good gains

Forgot to include smoking. Not as much as I used to, but still a bit. The just performing heavy squats and deadlifts thing isn't working for me. Gaining mass well quick, but not staying lean or looking too good. Routine is basically this
Work up to a max deadlift then perform like a couple tripples
Do doubles of squats at sub maximal weights until im bored
Do exercise that someone on T nation said was sick (gonna be snatch grip deads for a while) that probably doesn't do anything
Bench 135lb for 1 set of like 20+reps because its kind of like the NFL combine, but im too weak to bench 225lb for reps and joe defanco told me to
Work up to a single on the overhead press and then do a couple tripples
Depending on how Im feeling some close grip pressing or 3 board press
Super set dumbbell rows with face pulls
Work up to a max single or like triple on squat then perform a couple of submaximal triples
Bunch of doubles of deadlifts against chains
Some kind of hip hinge/ lower back movement for higher reps then normal
Work up to a max single on the bench and then a couple tripples
Work up to a max single on the close grip bench or if I don't feel I have the energy then like 5x5
Chin ups if they aren't hurting
Superset rows and face pulls
Lifts have been going up very fast and im getting bigger quickly, but im also getting fatter and most of the size is on the upper back, lower back, legs, glutes. Want more leanness and muscles I can see.
if you can't see your legs I highly doubt anyone in this threak can be of any help to you.
My cores just so huge I can't see past it.
Fuji, the calories got to go somewhere. Either met-con or diet.
If you can't do either of those. You could try an ecg stack, but I dunno how good that is for your heart.
If you are going to cut, cut. But trying to do both ain't gonna work too well unless you got charly's genetics. You might want to try leangains or something like that.
fuji, don't you eat at least 4,000-5,000+ calories per day? That seems pretty standard for making noob gains but once you're experienced, your lifts aren't going up as quickly and you want to lean out, you should probably lower the intake at least a little bit.
Either that or do some cardio. It's good for your heart, releases endorphins, makes you better at sex, etc. It's pretty awesome.
Without an actual caloric deficit, i.e. getting the diet in check, EC or clen won't do shit.
Or just nut up and do some cardio.
I'd also consider ditching snatch deads in favor of actual snatch pulls. they build your upper back like nothing else, regardless of what some dude says on t-nation.
