    Yeah, paused presses may help somewhat with that. Getting the bar off your chest is the hardest part of the entire lift - 'tis why I do only push presses :laugh:

    Since I got a new job in March, I haven't gone to the gym for a long time.

    However everything is going well.

    Dune, look into trigger point therapy. A lot of people who have lower back pain actually have a lot of trigger points in the glutes which refer the pain up. That and a weak core would be a good guess as to what's ailing you.

    Thinking of switching to a 2-a-day Bulgarian style approach for the last few wks of this year. As in light technique work + non-technical stuff in the AM, lifts PM.

    come on bro, the only reason you would do 2 a day is for twice the curls. how bout u bis + tris in the morning and bench + bis at night dawg??

    Can't do push presses or jerks anymore without wrist pain. I always lower the bar down too fast and it bends my wrists back. Seated dumbbell press ftw.

    Any good accessory lifts to get my curl up? I can never lock the bar out at the top, considering curling against chains or doing a 3 board curl. Bar movements pretty slow too so I'm thinking of doing some DE work with 50% of my 1rm.

    WTF's a 3 board curl?

    Concentration curls, incline dmb curls, preacher curls, and cable curls should all help with that. Its your lack of strength at the bottom that causes you to be unable to power through to the top.

    Lol it was a joke about using westside methods for the curl because people were talking about the importance of curls. 3 board curl doesn't exist, theres something called a 3 board press where you bench with 3 2x4s on your chest so that it shortens your range of motion and focusing on the top of the motion. Before the IPF the curl was used in powerlifting, your total was your squat, bench and curl, was called the strength set or something, wounder how the regulated the form.
