If you don't have any sharp pain moving it in certain directions, I doubt anything it pulled. You probably just worked it hard otherwise.

As for your weight/strength, there's way too many variables and explanations.

    - water retention
    - higher bodyfat (doubt it, as higher bodyfat (up to a point) is beneficially to strength)
    - sleep/energy levels
    - diet (less carbs)
    - you aren't training the lifts as hard as you were 1 year ago (most likely)

Just keep training and eating and break past it.

A year ago I was doing 3x5 work sets, now I'm doing 1x5/3/1 so maybe I need to up it. Also I haven't had a good night's sleep in 3 months.

Treated myself this past Father's day to one after a few years with a POS that could barely handle a protein shake. I love it :slayer:

Just helped this guy out at my gym today with deadlifts.

    He's about 5'7" and 165-175. His 5rm was 245 and 1rm was 265.

I fixed his form and gave him a few of my pointers.

    20 minutes later..

    Previous 5rm 245 -> 315 (easy, could've done 335)

Previous 1rm 265 -> 365 (and this was after 4 singles with 315 and the set of 5 with 315, and a bunch of sets warming up to it)

Needless to say he was extremely happy. And so was I :)

Oh, and he's only been deadlifting 3 weeks. This is the first session of deadlifts he's done without the guy that usually gives him shitty advice.

Hit 140kg+20kg in chains for 15 easy doubles today, still getting great bar speed. Second rep is always faster for some reason. Gonna crush 180kg on monday. Used the belt today, so long as I keep it low and not too tight it doesn't hurt. Really wish I got a lever, putting on a prong belt 15 times in an hour is a bit annoying. Gonna do some conventional pulls from a deficit to see if it helps my strength off the floor, maybe try some high pulls or snatch deads or something to see what works. Really hoping I can start doing good mornings and maybe even squats next week without pain.

Eason, I know you've said sumo deadlifting isn't real deadlifting or something like that, but if your lower back has been hurting you then you could give it a try. Pretty much takes all the strain off of it.

Stop driving yourself crazy. Go to the gym and give it your best. You will feel good afterwards. Then treat yourself to something tasty with a friend. Everything in moderation!

Fuck. Just discovered how infinitely better tasting low fat cottage cheese is than the fat free crap with only 10 more kCals per serving. This sucks because I tore through three tubs of the stuff this week which probably prevented my fat loss.
