everything is big in comparison to me :embar:

    arnold schwarzenegger?

they seem way more cut than "big" -- aesthetics over size in my eyes

This week off from lifting has been doing wonders for my shoulder. With thanksgiving coming up, it'll be two weeks of rest.

Next session should be interesting. :nodding:

I'll be scaling back a week of SS as opposed to picking up from where I left off.

Am I the only one who just skips the gym when I wake up feeling like trash (eg: sick, barely slept)?

Thanks for the bench vid. I've been benching with shoulders tucked and down and experiencing some shoulder strain. Varying grip widths didn't solve it. Will give the tight traps a try.

God damn it, free ride is over. Pretty sure I lost my old student ID card I've been using to get into the gym since I graduated a year ago. Alumni membership is $300, which isn't bad considering all of the stuff they have, but I'm hopeful I won't be around here for that long, so the cost stings more.

his neck is the size of his wrist....

Additionally, creatine seems to be helping me a bit. I haven't noticed in increase in size really, but it seems like I've gain a bit of strength. Today, I made all my snatches, 60x2, 70x2, (80% x 2) 4, and squatted (85% x 3)3 without any real trouble.

Idk if I mentioned this earlier, but I train with a guy who lifted in the SHW in Beijing... it's pretty humbling to train alongside this guy. When I talked to him he said he only trains like once or twice a wk now (yet casually snatches 160-170+ kg like it's nothing). That's insane.

When you do situps, do you have arms folded across the chest or behind head? Does it make a decent difference?

Also, I like how I ask the simple questions when everyone else discusses the protein absorption rates of casein vs whey etc :)

First week of smolov done and im kind of having elbow and wrist pain. Adding some shoulder mobility work between sets because they've been kind of hurting too. Im guessing the wrist pain is just from wearing wraps, but the elbow and shoulder pain is kind of worrying me. Im guessing its just from pulling my elbows back and keeping my back tight. Doing band pull aparts, light face pulls and those things you do with towels where you bring it over and behind your head.

jarude: so i read your post about SPBR and did my sets with a consistent weight.

was wondering how i should be moving up weights and preventing stalling? i.e. right now i can curl on the barbell 50lbs, but find 60lbs pretty heavy and unable to complete my reps (3x8). i've been curling 30lbs, 40lbs, now 50lbs in my progress. feel a little stall on the 50lbs...should i do lower reps first like 3x5 @ 60lbs.

alternatively, for my DL last night...I practiced with 45lbs first 1x10. Then proceeded to DL 205lbs 3x5. Went well, can probably move up to 215-225 next week.

If you stall, you should probably just rotate it i.e find another curl movement and stick with it for a few weeks. Anyway, it's just curls, you really shouldn't stress about that right now.
