Taking a total break from lifting until I get my ailments remedied. Terrified I'm going to put on some chunk since this is going to coincide with that time of year when there's like 8 pumpkin pies every time you turn around.

He must not be bench-pressing enough because his forward-hunch hasn't snapped him in half like an angry clam.

I liked the video. I am always hesitant to alter Rippetoe form standards, but I see no reason the traps can't be additionally engaged. And not a single squat was done that year.

thanks for posting that, toasty. i have a problem with a wobbly bench since i switched to guillotines, so i tried contracting my traps like that video suggested and i noticed a huge improvement; it made a nice solid base, pretty stable at the bottom of the movement. gonna keep doing it and see how it goes, i had to drop my weight a little to get used to it so we'll see how progress goes.

I always bench like that, I find it also makes it easier to keep your back tight. Does make you bench a bit different though, bar stops higher on the chest. I don't see whats wrong with the video. Also this probably is a pretty obvious question, but who is rippetoe? Is he a famous coach or ex powerlifter or something because everyone follows his advice on form.

Didn't feel me 10x3x85% in my legs at all today, legs feel completely fresh as if I didn't even squat. Guessing its because of the low reps.

I know who he is, watched his videos and everything. Just woundering what his credentials are, im guessing he's not just a random guy who makes youtube videos on how to squat.

He used to compete in powerlifting, own a gym and pretty much has years of coaching experience. You're right, he's not just another random youtube guy.

The size of them is next level to you???

Yes, they're quite big but nothing even close to next level.

Have you heard of Mr. Olympia?
