Just started using Creapure creatine today. I lost 8lbs in the past week from the stomach flu. Trying to put on 14 lbs quick for my meet next month. How should I cycle the creatine?

The one thing I dislike about crossfit is that a lot of times it seems like they are doing the exercises for the sake of being able to do complete them, even if it means injuring themselves doing so.

Being injured doing crossfit is almost worn as a badge of honour. A fb friend of mine does crossfit, posted a video of one girl in her gym doing some kind of fairly intense lift (snatch maybe, can't remember) on a very recently repaired ACL.

Deadlifted 17 reps of 150 on my first wave in the second month of 5/3/1 (supposed to do 5+). Should I immediately up the weight on my next deadlift day or finish out the next two days at 165 and 175? I had done 7 x 150 previously, this time I basically dropped the weight at the end of each rep instead of slowly lowering it back down. Is this okay or am I somehow cheating?

No need to cycle, just take 10-20g per day depending on how your body responds and how much it can hold.

In other news - my back, hammies, and, especially, my ass is sore today. Did a torturous deadlift set of 20 with 345 pounds. :(

    That's not cheating. That's a deadlift.

Eh, getting a hernia is a rite of passage. Welcome to manhood!

Sorry you won't be able to workout for a while, however.

Hahaha! If I was pushing some big weight and had some awesome story then I'd agree with you, but injuring yourself during your 55% squat work makes it not so great a story. I've had both my knees done and ankle issues from years of pounding, I am used to the pain and surgery, I just don't want to lose 2 months of training...

Whatever, I'd just lie. It was the 55% squat work that finally put your hernia over the edge. Prior to that, you were outside deadlifting a Subaru, that's what did the damage. :slayer:

I agree, the whole doing ''technical movements in the fastest way possible'' is not something I would condone. Sure, it is better than sitting on the couch but only if done UNDER the supervision of a good coach that knows how to prevent injuries.

The subaru? I'm pretty sure that was his warm up.

It must be pretty annoying to be around someone repeatedly dropping the bar and hearing it crash to the ground. I guess that isnt my problem.

I did do max bench (95%, 255lbs x 4) prior to the squat, I follow a different variation of 5/3/1 where you squat/bench 2x a week and it was the light weight squat that was the dagger to the old groin...

Yeah fuck that, I just got 'em. Not sure I definitely need them, but my college facility is cold as shit all the time during winter. Plus it makes me look way douchier, now I can look so hardcore doing technique work with light-ass weights..

I'm sure the bros doing some sick curls in the power rack won't mind.
