Wrong. the glutes are very active in a front squat, other than that you're right.

    Mr. Everett knows his stuff:

    this is good as well:
    http://stronglifts.com/how-to-front-squat-with-proper-technique/

    don't use the bodybuilder grip.

    Clean
    Jerk
    Snatch
    Snatch pull
    Clean pull
    Front squat
    Back squat

    Combined as needed.

Also cleaned 3x1x90kg today, other lifts were complete shit.

Why would I deadlift if I have snatch and clean pulls in there? but to answer your question; no, I don't. I'm better served by squatting more.

Why do so many of you focus on the 5% when you haven't got the other 95% down?

This has been covered before but I can't remember how far back so I'll ask again... with respect to progressing in Starting Strength, what do you guys advice in this situation?

Today my first two working sets of squats and bench press went well. However on the third set of both exercises, I really struggled with the *last* rep. Squat I was able to rack it, but form might've been a little off. On bench, I definitely couldn't lock out at the top and had to bail early.

How should I proceed the next workout, continue at same amount until I'm able to complete even the last rep with proper form or continue to add weight?

I would also like to add that I've upped the calories to diet within the last week so I'm getting 2800+ (even though I really should be at 3k based on calculators)

:slayer: make a maslow's heirarchy of needs in the context of lifting

i would repeat it. in my own experience, when i started crapping out on the last rep of the last set is when i started plateauing pretty hard, had enough, switched programs. how long have you been on SS? im surprised your squat/bench are getting stuck before your press, if this keeps happening it might be time to move on

From the SS wiki, repeat if everything else is great. If you're eating well and resting enough and you miss a rep, repeat.

If you didn't eat much that day, didn't sleep well or was otherwise distracted, you can move onto the next weight if it's a fluke, but ultimately your decision.

On week 6. My OHP has gotten stuck two workouts, though I attribute it to lack of sleep/shit form...

And when you say 'move on'... progress weight wise or to a new program?

    I know that link didn't.

Summation of above point: Don't choose to eat soy because there is no benefit. Its probably not worth avoiding like a hipster avoids gluten and Nickelback.

If you're referring to me I like trivial knowledge in every area of my life.

Pulled 3 plates again, except with good form this time. *hellyeah* Plus I'm in better CV shape so its a net win.

Touche. I was thinking that you'd pull more weight with just DLs than if you do an entire snatch/clean, but you do end up working the same muscle groups.

First, your form should always be proper, even when you're struggling.

Second, I'd weight up. Back when I was on SS if I could hit the first two sets I'd weight up.
