So long as it's not a degenerative back issue (and I don't see why it would be), I'm fine with rehabbing it. There are plenty of people who move big weight even though they've had herniated discs in the past. But without a concrete idea of what my actual condition is, I can only follow a broad recovery plan. Maybe I'm shitty at searching, but there seems to be a dearth of such rehab programs. All I'm finding is general recommendations to do lots of reverse hypers and heavy ab work. Certainly good suggestions, since I never was one for additional core work, but it'd be nice to have something more detailed to follow.

So fucking hard not to say something, I was dead-lifting right next to him. He left the plates there, too.

APK, j/w but how did this injury come about? from lifting? (DL)

curious b/c i wonder if the risks increases as i move up weights. i think my form is pretty decent (following rippetoe vid on youtube)

my brother injured his right wrist last weekend and was out the entire week. so i actually went to the gym by myself this week. felt nice. got to work out quickly through my sets and head home. not that i mind working out with my brother. but it felt good to finally feel adjusted back to the "gym culture" without feeling awkward/intimidated.

Yeah, deadlifting. I was making good progress throughout the winter, adding about 10 pounds a week before finally hitting 3 plates in March. I was cutting for a couple of months after that, so I stopped trying to progress with the weight. I attempted three plates again in June and probably rounded my lower back and just felt this horrible shooting pain. I got myself home, but then could barely move around for a day. It's been a lingering ache ever since, though there have been stretches where I felt fine.

There was a morning last month when I woke up and could barely move around because the pain was so bad. I hadn't done any real lifting in the days before that, so I'm not sure what triggered it.

I do have an area on my left side right at the waist that concerns me. It feels like a bump, though it's a bit harder than a knot. There's nothing like that in the same area on the right side, either.

Am confused why the safety bars are so high. Probably because he couldn't squat 315 for shit.

Child abuse is okay as long as you're teaching them about functional strength, bro.

Reminds me of this Asian kid I saw. About the same height as toasty, 20-30 pounds less weight easy. ZERO muscle mass, got calfs as wide around as a newborn kitten's. Puts a plate and a half on the squat. Does about a 2" ROM and goes back up. Turns around and thinks he's boss.

what a retard. half tempted to call child services on that shit. jesus.
