been looking at the classic bodybuilder thread on IA. Now I feel a) kind of gay and b) like I have a pretty explicit training goal (to look like pre 60s bodybuilders)

I can see you with a steeve reeves kind of build.

Not sure if youre messing with me but I think I actually could attain this. I have poor genetics for adding strength and mass quickly (or at all to be frank) but my frame is kinda suited to that build: 5'11, 170 lbs, about a 31 waist and a 40 chest after only seriously training for six months (and still doing a lot wrong over that period).

I'd be disinclined to think so, since AAS was first made available by the FDA in 1958...

Reeves had a great look: [IMG] Aesthetically, I much prefer the leaner core of old than the oil drum build of today.

So what's the deal with "net carbs" when it comes to keeping carbs low in your diet. The other day I was coming close to the end of my feeding window and was short on hitting my protein numbers. I was out, so I grabbed one of these from a 7-11: http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Protein-S.../dp/B000GBKEO0 label reads 30G carbs but they advertise only 4 "net carbs."

Net Carbs are total carbs minus 1) fiber and 2) sugar alcohols.

Jury is out on whether alchols can be discounted or not.

had my complimentary fitness assessment and p/t session today. P/T was a nice guy, right out of college, fellow comic nerd. Also doing 5/3/1 (though he said that he had good results with T-Nation's anaconda protocol, so there was a fair bit of broscience)

Best thing i got out of it was the suggestion to do pin presses to help with bench lockout. Also helped me get more rear delt work (wide grip row, face pull) which i feel is sorely lacking in the program (and kinda necessary for us desk jockeys). He also wasn't too pushy...I'll probably hit him up if my DL or Squat stalls out.
