I gotta vent (so feel free to ignore me):

I tried bulking & cutting the last two years and I never really got cut and kept losing all my muscle gains: I guess I don't have the genes for abs. So this spring I decided to just keep on bulking under the theory that being jacked is the next best thing to being cut.

My weight is 5 lbs heavier than my lifetime max and my lifts are all at lifetime maxes. But I'm having trouble gaining more weight and my lifts are starting to stall, so I'm trying to ramp up the milk and creatine.

The girl I just started dating says she likes my body, but she never saw me before for comparison. Half the time when I look in the mirror naked I think I look awesomely huge, but the other half of the time I think I look fat. My rock climbing is suffering. But the worst, THE WORST, is that at least half of my clothes don't fit any more.

Some days (like today), I'm really unsure that this is the right thing to be doing. Other days (deadlift day in particular), it feels great.

I don't really get how your not able to fit jeans etc. It took me almost 20lbs of bulking to out grow my jeans, then another 25lbs to out grow those. But I spose everyone puts on weight differently.

What confuses me is you said the jeans started not fitting before any leg work. But 6lbs of fat wouldn't make it difficult for myself to not fit jeans.

Hombre look at the priorities in life and decide whats important. If rock climbing is that important, scale back the lifting and climb some more. You are happy with your lifts, so thats great and you seem happy about them. You obviously care about your lifts and your body to commit some years to put on some strength and size.

As long as you are healthy and happy do what you do. Plus you have a girl that is happy with the way you are now. who cares about comparing to the old you.

Though I was feeling pain near the top of my shoulder, I actually found a trigger point lower down in the supraspinatus area. This is where the barbell was when I would do squats (some of you may recall me noting a pinching sensation in that area from doing squats). It doesn't encompass a large area (maybe the size of a quarter), but holy ****, what I felt when I came across it with the Thera Cane. "Tender" doesn't describe it. "Agony" is a more fitting description. But it was one of those "hurts so good" types of agony while working on it. I also have a lesser trigger point a couple of inches below that (if you drew an imaginary C from the first trigger point, it would connect with the second). So between those, it's clear why that entire area has been a source of discomfort for many months. I work on those two spots daily and while they're both still tender, I haven't been waking up with a stiff shoulder nor have I been feeling any discomfort while doing stuff like DB bench or heavy deads. I still haven't tried any overhead pressing movements; those will be the true test for recovery. I don't expect the healing to be an overnight thing, though. The author states that only new pains are quickly fixed. Seeing as how I was noting this shoulder pain in my training log four months ago, I figure it to be a while before I'm all better. But ****, it's a lot cheaper than visits to the doctor or chiro would have been.
I was fascinated by this post, mostly because my shoulder trigger point locked up on me the other day and its been rather agonizing since it also causes my scalenes to lock up as well, so I decided to delve into the materials a bit more. I ordered the book, knobbler thingy, and the back body buddy instead of the theracane. Will post results once I get into the book. Thanks for posting up the info APK.

Meaning I don't feel lethargic anymore. When I used to eat every 2.5 hours, I was always full and always tired and sleepy. Now I just feel better not eating so much. Also my focus has gotten better.

lucky you.. I gain the majority of my mass in my thighs and ass, so it's about 10lb = 1 size for me :\\

I think I may have joined the ranks of lifters now.... for the better I hope... I was a runner by trade for a long while, so my legs where really skinny and putting on weight in the thigh/ass was easy. I was just so skinny it still took some time to fill out 31in jeans. I'm also kinda tall, so weight didn't always correlate to a change in size.
