I prefer squatting over deadlifting if you are only going to to one exercise, at the end of the day if your form isn't perfect (or as close to) use a lighter weight.

well actually it's because i pretty much can't bend my left foot at the ankle. it just kinda stays in your average standing straight up position, with very little flexibility. if i could find some shoes that would keep the balls of my feet on the ground and raise my heels about...2.5-3 inches off the ground, i could do squats.

Got a question.... I'm looking to get leaner and decided to do some more cardio. Is running at night or morning more effective? and if morning, run on an empty stomach?

Morning. No need to eat if you don't need to eat, since you're trying to lose weight.

No you can't unless you can bend your ankle backward or stand while your body leans forward at a 15- degree angle. And that's without descending.

    Do good-mornings.

At first I almost puked when I mixed cookies and cream whey powder with water. Now its tasty sugar water.
Was this the Optimum Nutrition brand by any chance? It's a horrible flavor.

Optimum Nutrition is a great brand, but their Cookies and Cream is siiiick. That's the only one I bought from them unfortunately, in like a 20 gallon tub.

The cinnamon & vanilla flavours from ON are pretty good with water, and great with milk.

lifting weight is all about proper form

doing anything on an empty stomach is nonsense and counter productive since there is no source of energy (food) to burn, your body will be shocked and forced to store its fats and take energy from the muscles - THEREFORE nor will you build anything, your performance will suck

running in the morning is the best - thats how I do it
why? It jump starts your metabolism, activates your muscles and nerve systems, and sends adrenaline to your brain. Afterwards, not only will you be more focused and alive, you just feel good.

Before you run, eat complex carbs such as oatmeal or some fruits - in small portions. Drink water and stretch.

Getting leaner is all about protein to carb ratio intake, worry about your performance first.

There's a lot of debate in the bodybuilding world in regards to the fasted morning cardio and some swear that by keeping your intensity low enough fasted cardio is an ideal time to burn fat as your body has no other fuel sources and thus will use primary fat as the energy source. Again, I've read countless articles for and against it and I think give it a try and if you respond to it go for it. Along those lines another opportune time for cardio is immediately after your weight session since again your body should be primed for fat burning since it's exhausted your glycogen stores during weights.

The fold out sparticus workout circuit in the new mens health is pretty tough. Instead of doing all 10 exercises for a minute i split it up and did 5, then the other 5. I like circuit training more than anything else. So if you want a pretty tough workout hit it upp
