Haha yea, I went to squatting 3x/week, benching 3x, and deadlifting 1x + a dl variation on the third squat day then gave up chasing state(lol) records cuz I wasn't even good enough for that. The current generation of lifters are incredible.

gained some weight since my daughter was born... would like to lose about 15 pounds.

going to try intermittent fasting with 3 hour eating window (so just one meal + maybe snacking) with low carb + 1 cheat day a week.

i see people doing 16:8 IF is common but that's my normal diet since i usually drink black coffee or cortado for breakfast, and try not to eat anything after dinner.

My current progress compared to a pic from about 1-2 years ago.

    Untitled19.jpg

Full trifecta of being more intelligent about eating well (but still with a fair amount of cheat foods in small doses), weight training, and cardio

There's a treadmill at my gym with an adjustable incline up to 30°. It's pretty cool but why not just get a stair climber at that point?

    Damn how tall are you?
at 171 I think a better option would be to push weight and try and build muscle before trying to lose 20lbs.

Think you're on the right track on the eating. Pretty tight window though -- I've found 16:8 is usually enough restriction if you stay low carb. Maybe look at HIIT on the Peloton for more bang for your cardio buck? 30 seconds of full out sprinting every 4-5 minutes, easy pace in between, four intervals. There's HIIT rides in the programming also if you like to join in.

Yeah I used to be pretty skinny. Now I’m skinny fat :(

I’ll definitely try hiit. Been wanting to give it a go.

There are definite metabolic benefits from max-exertion exercise and Martin Gibala at McMaster has been showing consistently how little of it you actually need to do to capture them. It's pretty amazing.

I'm in the same skinny fat boat on a slightly different scale. Currently 235 (down from 255) at 6'7" and North of 20% body fat. Trying to get back under 15% BF before I turn 50 this year while adding some lean mass. Lifting, HIIT, double the steak consumption, halve the wine consumption -- that's pretty much it.
