1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

It's just the idea of accumulating redundant things that's unappealing. Especially in the kitchen.

I can't imagine cooking rice without one... Put rice and water in and hit go. I can do other things while the rice cooks.

How does that differ from a microwave?

That's what you do with a microwave.

In my experience, the rice cooker works a hell of a lot better for cooking rice.

But hey, what the hell do I know. Perhaps having one device to cook everything you eat is the ultimate in convenience?

Nobody is lifting, they're all busy using their rice cooker.

Yep, rice cookers are covered in the original manifesto for this thread...

I don't understand why this thread is all about lifting now. [IMG]

Lifts went well yesterday. Did some ultra-wide stance squatting @ 85% to work on glute/adductor strength that's lagging after a partial glute tear.

Then had dinner with my folks for Chinese New Year and ate roughly 1 kilo of rice that was made in a rice cooker and another 1/2 kilo of fried rice. Felt good to overdo my macros for the first time in a while.

I wonder how much the anti-rice cooker folks spend on clothes :hide:

Time is worth more than money + counter space.

Speaking of expensive cooking gadgets, i'm thinking of getting a sous vide.

I'm all about kitchen gadgets right now. Been slowly upgrading to nicer stuff. Don't really have much appliance type stuff though. Got a nice microwave, a metal oyster blender, a crock pot which I fuckin hate (low setting is WAY too hot), and a rice cooker.

Sous Vide, why? Cooking shit in plastic seems horrible. I eat like 2 lbs of meat a day, if it all came out of a cooked plastic bag I'd have dick cancer in a week. But for your fancy style of cooking, I could see you getting a lot of use out of it.

just google it bro. It's an immersion circulator that keeps food at a consistent temperature for hours. You use it to do some fancy shit.

Also a whipped cream dispenser to make foams and shit.
