    I lost upper back tightness while squatting last night. The bar slipped down a few inches and bent my wrists back. They're pretty sore this morning.

    Would wrist wraps help me keep a straight wrist position / tighter set-up?

    Wrists are not the problem here brah

    Your back holds the weight, your hands just balance it. You tighten your wrists, this happens again, maybe next time you injure your shoulder. Gotta build up that upper back (and back in general). Some kind of horizontal rowing with your elbows flared (build your mid/lower traps) and practice keeping your back locked with shit like stiff leg deads

    When i was smaller and squatted low heavy wrist wraps really helped my squat because some people just don't have the thickness to fully support the bar. I'd give them a go.

    Thanks. I've been doing Pendlay BB rows and rack pulls to build my upper back. They've helped a lot, but I still don't have a solid "shelf" for low bar squatting. I'll probably give the wraps a try until my back catches up.

    I'm pretty much dairy free, I eat no substitutes or lactose free stuff either, cheese was tough but fuck it I just gave it up and never looked back

    ever since I cut out dairy I very rarely have stomach issues, and I shit like clockwork too but not sure if its related

    kale krunch is an awesome snack, personally like the tarragon dijon flavor

    If you squat low bar with thumbs around the bar, you'll most likely need wrist wraps for squatting before you will for benching.

    @jarude

    How did your elbow problems start?

    I've had some weird feeling in the back off my left forearm, about 2-3 inches from the wrist, right after a bench press set.
    Its not really painful, more like a achy feeling that start just as I rack the barbell and then dissapears after about 2-5 secs.

    I've read a bunch of stuff and I might grip the bar too right and set my wrist too straight.

    Hey Doc, what are your views on benching with the false grip and regular grip? I've always used the regular grip for benching but have seen beasts like Charly and other big dudes using the false grip. I just feel the regular grip keep my wrists straight. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of either grips?

    What do you mean by false grip? Reverse grip?
    I might start doing reverse grips for trips. Cgbp bothers my elbows, wrists, and even shoulders!
