I'm 51 in decent shape. Can out swim almost everyone I know. Can hike for miles in the mountains at 9000 feet. I eat decent food most of the time. My weight's been the same for decades. I don't workout excessively.

So WITF are most Americans fat pigs that can hardly walk a block let alone swim?

There's my random thought for the day.

All the things you think about when it comes to health, diet, and exercise.

I have lost all perspective on whether I'm too fat, too skinny, look good, etc. I literally change my mind every other day. Yesterday I was too skinny until I tried to put on a MTM shirt and my arms didn't fit in the sleeves, what the fuck.

Also, should I work hard at the gym today or just half-ass it?

Oh noes! You're becoming female, egads! [IMG]

People who leave their cell phones and protein shakes on the only two flat benches while they workout on the other side of the gym deserve pee in their protein.

For the last couple weeks I was going to the gym 6 days a week and getting some quick growth on my way back up in weight (since I've grown and shrank a million times) but I'm too suddenly lazy/busy/uninspired to go more than every other day. Finding a way to drink Chinese protein shakes is more than a chore- it has no flavor, and it doesn't mix. Anything you put it in will just get chunks of soy-tasting powder, and several slimy films floating around in it like jellyfish.

Also, I think I have some weird block that prevents me from getting over 165 lbs. Whenever I got close in the past, (about 5 times) I'd always get sick and by the time I'd recover, I'd be back to 155 if I was lucky, 149 if I wasn't.

I generally feel better when I'm working toward fat loss rather than muscle gain. I felt like a bit of a slob during my few attempts to bulk.

I hurt my hand a few months ago and while it isn't disabling, I've been a bit apprehensive about really heavy or explosive lifts since then. Subsequently, I've focused more on circuit training. Mixed with better eating, I feel infinitely better than when I was trying to bulk.

I've had a sore throat for four weeks now. GF has had a sore throat for four days. Went to a Walgreens quick clinic and the RN said my throat looked like shit and gave me penicillin (negative 'strep test'). Day three of pcn begins in 8 hrs and my throat feels lumpier and hurts more than ever. It had better lighten up during day three because I'm seriously pissed over taking ibuprofen the last 48 hrs. I haven't made a gain in the gym in weeks. Seriously might just sleep the next 48 hours until I go back to work for the holidays.

Regarding deeper squats, consider buying a pair of olympic lifting shoes, if you aren't using them already. The slope from heel to toe gives you better balance for a deep sit. Also, are you doing any front squats?

I'd like to get some type of rowing contraption. I think it could be good for warming up before lifting. Also a good aerobic/anaerobic option for rainy days, instead of track time?

I feel slobby when gaining, but when I'm cutting I just feel plain shitty; headaches, tiredness, irritability. What sucks is that no matter how much I cut I can't ever quite get over that last hump to where I want to be with body fat %.

Fat college girls on winter break have taken over the treadmills at my gym. They look like drug trial gerbils.

I started doing front squats about 6 weeks ago because of a pinch below my right shoulder blade that I would feel when lowering my arms after a back squat. I'm relative newbie status, though, approaching a bw front squat.

Regarding fat college girls at the gym, that wouldn't bother me a bit. In fact I'd love to see a few in my gym, which is in my garage. Is that so wrong?

I've started getting muscle pain in my forearms at the origin/insertion points of the muscles since I've been working pretty hard and lifting heavy weight lately. Also started getting right knee pain, might have to stop squats for a while. (Yes I'm moving hips first)

I work out at school. They closed up today and won't reopen until the new year. In other words, today was my last chance to use any treadmill, bike, elliptical, or row machine until the resolutioners give up the last week of January.
