Just remember bros....we're all going to make it.
Holy shit, hungover as fuck... I don't know if I'm gonna make it brahs. Def taking the weekend off
That's how i felt yesterday I went out with some chick that I really dug on thursday night and tried to crash at her place just so I could keep the date rolling, but her cat fucking attacked me in my sleep so I had to dip back to my apartment at 2:30 am. That + Hungover + no real work to distract me = the worst workday ever.
Also, I realize I've been giving my health care people the wrong insurance info. Hopefully I'm not fucked.
^ please tell me that crashing at her place doesn't mean on the couch or floor...
first it was the bed but she was snoring so i moved to the couch with my headphones. didn't get it in unfortunately but we made out a bunch and she seemed generally into me.
The vibe i got was that she wasn't sure if she was into the idea of something that couldn't turn into Something as I Just Got Out Of A Long Term Relationship And Wasn't Looking For Anything Serious. She's apparently never been in that situation where there's no chance of it "developing" as it were and doesn't know how she feels about that? who knows.
Looking back, I should've reverted to my nihilstic-heidonistic Brett Easton Ellis-esque "all connection is finte, live for the moment because the future is unknowable" mode which somehow girls eat up but i was too drunk and i was actually in too good of a mood to think of going there. Need to embrace dat dark triad.
I've got plenty of other things going on girl-wise (a few too many things actually, have to cut down the roster a bit haha) so like, if it works out great if it doesn't whatever.
So I squat ATG right now.. Any tips on retraining myself to stop just past 90? Thinking I might do box squats for a few weeks, but not really sure.
Reps for Ellis reference but could have been shortened to YOLO, which girls also somehow eat up.
why would you want to stop ATG squats?
I figure if I can go for a few weeks at heavier weights to parallel, that'll boost my ATG in the long run also. Not permanently giving them up, just trying to progress a bit. Debating either going to parallel with heavier weight or doing paused ATG with lower weight.
I've never seen anyone give a good reason for going ATG other than just ego
holy shit total annihilation, I can't believe ppl still play that
Going to cancel my Sams Club membership. Nothing is actually cheaper and it's full of fat mean fucks. Just got called a faggot for crossing the street by some dickhead in an F150 in the parking lot there.
Checking form for my three main lifts.
Pretty confident with my bench form so far. I could keep the tension a bit better on the pause at the bottom though.
I've tried to start with my hips lower on Deads, but it feels wrong and makes me arch my back too much and lose a lot of strenth and tightness. At 6'3 with kinda long legs, I think my hips should start pretty high, as in the vid. Maybe could've leaned back a bit more to fully bring the shoulders over the bar.
These were done on squat day as the main lift. Should the knees travel further forward? I also do them as an accessory after Deads with higher reps and ATG to get more hamstring and glute activation and to practice form with the lower weight.
I think it's just me, remember it from when i was in year 4 and thought it would be fun.
I think the argument for squatting atg is the same as doing any other movement with full ROM. Would you cut curls or pull ups short for more load and reps? Probably not. I'd argue that ego is the reason that people cut off before atg because they'd rather concern themselves with numbers on the bar rather than working on the mobility needed and the bottom end strength which kills a lot of lifters.
This isn't to say atg is the only true way of squatting; if you're competing and inches make a big difference, then squat to where the fed says. As long as its past parallel and you arent breaking yourself and arent competing, who cares. With that being said, if people are lifting for the sake of lifting and they have the capacity to squat deep, I don't see why they would cut rom short for the sake of some incremental increase of an arbitrary number. Lifting is a process, not an event.. It doesn't matter what's on the bar as long as its relative progress.
